Ocular Complication of a Child with Confirmed 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease: A Case Report

Introduction: The first cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were identified in Wuhan, China, December 2019, and then it immediately spread to other parts the world. Conjunctivitis has been reported as one manifestations disease. In this study, we report a three-year-old child with confirmed diagnosis COVID-19 developing conjunctivitis Iran. Case Presentation: patient was male who referred Namazee Hospital (Shiraz) due fever, dry cough, tachypnea, respiratory distress. He admitted impression infection. On sixth day admission, developed unilateral red-eye foreign body sensation left eye. A conjunctival swab done for collecting tears secretions from lower eyelid fornix without topical anesthesia sent assessing presence SARS-CoV-2 RNA, which demonstrated be positive after two days. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that virus can present conjunctiva. Additionally, should taken into account ocular complications may not appear early stages
